The game has a lore, it doesn't present you like other games do but it's great. Just go to youtube and search for it. I was mindblown, i actually lost hours watching those videos, you should try! :)
It doesn't ruin the experience but would have definitively been a fun thing to share with friends, even Mario 3D World for WII U had it!
But it would give the chance for PS4 owners to play the game. It only released on PS3 :)
Well for playing Ps3 games online, the psn plus wasn't even needed and you would get great games. Now you are obligated to have plus to play ps4 online and you get indie games. It seems a downgrade to me...

You shouldn't need a video, try reading every item description, try talking to all NPC's, try to interpret it. The game intensity doesn't allow you dedicate time to the lore, but the game has it and it is awesome!
