what speed difference? the gaming difference was fixed a while ago first of all. and second if youre 3d artist that means you have at least 2gb of ram right? with 2gb of ram vista is multiple times faster than xp.

I use it, because I actually take a look at a product and how it works not just who made it. IE7 is superior. Open up your task manager and you'll see both Opera and IE7 are still faster than Firefox 3.
It seems unreliable because it's trendy to hate Microsoft products but the truth is IE7 is faster, more secure, and more attractive. Also if you download IE7Pro you can have mouse gestures, adblock, etc everything you need and STILL waste less memory than Firefox. It even comes in 64-bit.
The truth is IE7 is way better than Firefox. Even Opera is better. Firefox wastes tons of memory, yes even Firefox 3, when you start adding extensions.

Vista is an awesome OS. XP was horrible for many years until SP2 came out. Vista is already a really really good OS and SP1 has not come out. SP1 updates are not as big as the improvements you get randomly from Windows Updates. Microsoft is always updating the OS to make it better with Windows Updates now instead of waiting for Service Packs. But yes, there are many improvements in SP1 with performance, security, and stability.

Umm... Microsoft gives you the 64 bit disc for free on their website. Or you can "download it" (from where? I duno :P) and use your legit license key and you will have a legit copy.
