The Abductor got a lot of variety and difficulty. Because when you defeat them, you can use their body part to upgrade your weapons. And yes, this game also have human enemies.
FYI, not all F2P are pay 2 win.

Compile Hearts is a very small dev and they always making games like this back from the year they got founded. It's their specialty, so if you complaint why they are not ambitious to produce something like FF VI / Skyrim calibre than you barking on the wrong tree.

For me it's good, but i like puzzles. So, it depends on you.
If you like puzzles than try this (there's a demo on PSN). But if not than you can skip it.
