@Philoctetes
Your not alone bro. I also liked UC2 better than UC3. The story are more simple and memorable than UC3. But UC3 is still a great game though.
I don't think because gamer / classic FF fans are too old enough for FF. I remember playing FF Tactics when i in middle school, and Tactics have mature storyline about politics, betrayal, and such. So it's not gamer fault if FF are dying. It's all because SE are spreading FF too thin and trying inovate it in the wrong way.
Besides, key members like Hironobu Sakakaguchi, Nobuo Uematsu, Yasumi Matsuno, Tetsuya Takahashi, and Hiroyuki Ito already left SE. Now SE only...
I hope Sony still consider Dark Cloud 3, Wild Arms 6, or Legend of Dragoon 2 on PS4. Not to mention some old title that sony must revive it such as Omega Boost. Imagine Omega Boost 2 and Legend of Dragoon 2 with Uncharted / GT 5 graphic >.<
Ah, i forgot there's Rune Factory IV, DQ VII remake, Etrian IV, and Bravely Default. For Bravely, damn! i'm scared that SE will not localize this game just like FF Type-0 >.<
This game are one of the reason why i bought a 3DS. Hopefully in E3 we will have clarification from SE.
edit:
@disagree for my 1st comment
Can you explain to me why you disagree to my list???
Here the top 5 from the link guys:
- Atelier Ayesha (PS3)
- Ys Celcetea (Vita)
- Fire Emblem: Awakening (3DS)
- Ni no Kuni (PS3)
- Tales of Xillia (PS3)
And personally, i want to add some JRPG that have potential to be hit in 2013:
- Shin Megami Tensei IV (3DS)
- Devil Summoners: Soul Hacker (3DS)
- Disgaea Dimension 2 (PS3)
- The God and Fate Revolution Paradox (PS3)
- Pandora T...
I'm only saying this once:
Yes, JRPG this gen isn't usual like last gen where we always got ton's of quality JRPG from every direction. But, JRPG ISN'T DEAD like the western media told us. The fact it's still alive and healthy. Because if it's dead, than those japanese companies aren't making title like Ni no Kuni, Disgaea Dimension 2, Atelier Ayesha, Valkyria Chronicles, Fire Emblem Awakening, SMT IV, etc etc. Maybe we already have Final Fantasy F...
Really? Damn, someone break into my dream and put this inception :P
Lol, same old song 'JRPG is dead and need a savior' huh?
Whatever. I'm just enjoying play Ni no Kuni, Tales of Xillia, Disgaea Dimension 2, Fire Emblem, Shin Megaten IV, Ys Celceta, and more JRPG's on this year. Meanwhile you western journalist busy figuring what title can save JRPG.
@Drithe
Yes it's true Fire Emblem & Disgaea are an SRPG. But they have different creator, which mean different focus and style of story / gameplay. That way, you can't say which one is the best. But again, every people have their personal taste so i respect your choice.
I already had Yakuza 3 & 4 copy, but not Dead Souls. And i think Sega made a litle bad decision about Dead Souls, because they aren't releasing Kenzan and Black Panther in the west to appeal the fans for Yakuza spin-off. That's why people not buying Dead Souls because they are not used with Yakuza spin-off.
Hopefully, Sega still localize Yakuza 5 and HD collection.
@Drithe
You mean Persona 4: Golden who got score 9 / 10 left and right?
Anyway, can't wait to get this game!
and i hope soon SE announce localization of Bravely Default. Don't know why they took so long :(
Lol politicians, they are joke of the century. In my country, we called politician as rats or lizard.
I'm tired about articles JRPG vs WRPG or East vs West. I'm enjoying God of War, Uncharted, and any game western dev / publisher made. Of course as long as it's good by my standard. It's the same too with games from eastern dev.
The funny thing is...in the end credit for Uncharted, CoD, or AC, i found a lot of programer / staff from east / asian working for those games. If they contributed for those games than we can't call CoD / AC 100% pure from west righ...
"A very, VERY large majority of JRPGs start with a character who is a nobody, but soon finds that he has awesome untapped powers to save the world... and he quite often fights the bad guy at the beginning and get his arse whooped, then goes on to learn life's hard lessons which in turn gives him the confidence to beat the bad guy. "
Lol, you don't have a clue don't you?
If you played JRPG such as Shin Megaten series, Disgaea series, Atelier seri...
Metacritic is a joke. Metacritic include a lot of perfect scores for Xenoblade, but not perfect scores for Ni no Kuni from good / legit gaming sites? And from users score, Ni no Kuni has more high score than Xenoblade. But i agree with you that the two are excelent RPG's. Gamers must play it and ignore the score.
Well, Monolith Soft have Tetsuya Takahashi, the creator behind Xenogears + Xenogasa and graphic director for FF VI-Chrono Trigger-Front Mission. With his experience, maybe someday Monolith Soft will gain the title as a "New Squaresoft". But right now, i think Level 5 or Atlus already fill that title.
Anyway, Nintendo are lucky to have Monolith Soft. Hope they produced more awesome RPG in the future.
As a 3DS owner, i still waiting an english version for this game. And i'm confused why on earth SE not announced the english version -_- Is it because no lightning in the title?
Dragon's Crown garbage? Really? You already played it? Cause the last time i checked this game isn't out yet. And Vanillaware is a high quality developer and some key programmer from Atlus support them too in this game.
Bioshock Vita isn't canceled. Do you have any proof? Give me a official link from 2K or Sony.
Maybe a PS2 classic. But this is SE we're talking about so maybe it's a mobile / social games.
Yeah, i kinda like Timothy too. And Hitman movie still enjoyable to watch. I just a little dissapointed that the script not give Timothy more time to fleshed out Agent 47 character.
