That sounds like such a great place to work, where creativity is not hindered by anyone and every employee's own well-being is first priority. I really do hope, that more companies are like this, or else I'll have to look forward to a long boring time programming.
It seems like a great place to be, and can actively be felt in the quality of the products too. Their games oozes of love and care and actual enthusiasm for its creation.
The fact that Torchlight 1 and 2 have been of the highest quality and the gameplay was done so spot on makes me very excited to see, what Runic Games have in store for us now after 1½ years. Also that they also would want to experiment with genres sounds like a great thing. I mean, if we're honest, Torchlight 2 isn't held as one of the best (if not the best) of the genre because they've been innovative (all the mechanics had been done earlier), but because they could put this...

Even though I've only done 3D art as a hobby and I haven't done any game design, the thing about having to actually implement ideas as part of the game design proce...
That statue would be so great to have on my shelf!

I've added the post to the outlander-subforum, since I didn't want to post off-topic stuff in the general section. If that means I'm not eligible, then...
I've played Torchlight II since its release (and by accident played for 40 hours the first week), and I can only say, that yes this game is just as great as it is described in this article.
It's a great game, just as it is, that can even be enhanced with mods (I only run with high-texture packs, but the SynergiesMOD is a high quality huge addition (close to an expansion pack) to the game).
