Don't take this wrong, I don't agree with the move, but you'll still be able to play the game. You just won't be able to play against other people. I honestly don't understand why a game like this doesn't just backend a P2P connection for online matches

I think it's pretty stupid, too. I think logging into your PSN isn't a huge deal. If they were to make a launcher/store front for PSN games that you had to login to, that would be a little more annoying but still, everyone else is doing the same thing. Unless Sony and Valve had some sort of partnership, this was inevitable

Everyone is so quick to write this off. There's a reason Sony is 100% behind this game. With Sonys pedigree in creating/overseeing some of the best gaming experiences as of late, I'd bet there's a huge reason they're willing to fork over money and not put this game in limbo or restructure. I'm confident that with the tram that was overseeing this, after seeing how it plays and what it's about, that this will be the FPS Multiplayer shooter Sony needs so bad.

Even with this happening and even if MS is telling the truth about not worrying about PS/Console gaming, they won't gain much more market cap then what they initially get from the actual purchase. This is just going to have Sony start R&D for FPS that can go up against COD.. That's the biggest reason they went for Bungie. Bungie can help get Sony on par with FPS mechanics while still making multiply games that will also make money for Sony, then those FPS games Sony make will slow...
I think the point is that the game isn't a real life sinulator. It's a fantasy/sci-fi game that could have been more imaginative with its planets, landscapes, and lore behind those properties
