@mcstorm You do know that you can hook your computer up to your TV as easy as you can a video game system, right? Most PC players I know play on their large-screen tv's while sitting on the couch. It's been years since I played PC games while sitting at a desk and using a computer monitor.
"Ghosts breathes new life into a series that seemed to have nowhere else to go and is tense and engaging in all the right ways."
HA, Now that's freakin funny. It's amazing how money can buy reviews. Year after year we have to suffer the blatant politics of the industry, yet the lack of integrity from reviewers never ceases to amaze me. Every point this review makes only goes to make me question if the reviewer ever actually played the game,
free with subscription? that's pretty sweet...
@ma1asiah "Yet he is the big man or figure head over at Activision aparently helping them make billions in profit."
Exactly, that is what everyone is so afraid of. Activision puts out the same stupid product every year and pockets all the cash from the gamers that keep buying the same COD every year. Instead of building a new game engine or trying to innovate in any way, they pocket their billions of dollars and give us the same crap each year. If a gamer was runni...
project_pat36... You must have a short memory; It was revealed in 2006 that the Bush started the warrantless communication surveillance program when he ordered the NSA to build a highly classified wiretapping program to monitor emails and phone calls of US citizens. When Bush asked the phone companies to turn over their records, Qwest was the only company to deny the request, which is why I switched to Qwest back then. In retaliation, Bush sent the federal government to conduct criminal and c...
The funny thing is that many of us here were once pro xbox who are now standing up for the gamer and trying to bring focus to the anti-consumer practices MS is trying to incorporate with this new system.
Remember the Playstation outage that lasted 24 days? Guess what, if an attack like that happens on the Xbox One, you will not be able to play any of your games for 23 of those days (offline or online). Unlike you, many people think that is a HUGE deal.
"I get that people don't like feeling like they are having something "taken away" from them, but seriously, unless you are trying to do something you shouldn't be doing (like pirating games), then how is ...
I'm a xbox and xbox 360 owner and I disagree with every one of your stances(except the NFL and NBA stance). I also know that corporations will pull every trick in the book to fleece you of every dime you have if they can get away with it. It is common practice to release statements about policy/features/ or pricing changes and then monitor consumer backlash. Then they decide if the amount of backlash is great enough to override the profits gained from new features/policies/pricing. If so,...
Yep, just like they blamed windows 8 debacle on the laptop companies. Yet again, they try to force their future vision down our throats, instead of actually doing their homework to find out what we actually want. And yet again, they have failed miserably. Just like the majority of consumers did not want windows 8 to revolve the stupid metro (recent reports show hardly anyone even uses metro on windows 8, surprise surprise), most people did not want a system that revolves around waving your ar...
What's even more amazing is that they get this award every year and still sell more games than any other company. In almost any other industry, that award would be the death blow, but the uniformed, casual market overrides the serious gamers, like ourselves, that are trying to keep the game industry consumer friendly.
What polling data do you base that off of, or are you just making a complete guess? I prefer offline gaming way more than online gaming and I bet the % of people that prefer to play offline modes would shock you.
JQM78 - It was a choice between backwards compatibility and switching to the x86 architecture. With Sony, for example, is not possible to play the cell architecture games on the new x86 architecture system, and this was a big internal dilemma when deciding on which architecture to go with. Ultimately, they went for the better and more developer friendly architecture. It is not about software, but hardware and they simply couldn't get cell games to play on 86x system. A tough choice, but ...
What you fail to understand is that it is not about fanboyism, it's about making our voices heard so that maybe enough complaining and negative press makes Microsoft change their minds about the DRM and used games and other things we as gamers do not like. Throughout the past few years, many a company has tried to charge or add policies that resulted in customer backlash. This backlash has led to the company rethinking their position in favor of the customer. It doesn't always work, b...
After M$ refused to open up the Xbox One for indie developer, and then climbed into bed with a behind-the-scenes partnership with EA and Activision by building the DRM into the system, my disgust is through the roof.
The optimist of the 1st degree. You do realize that most of what Microsoft introduced at the reveal is exclusive to North America, don't you? With the name "thebrit", that should probably worry you. You also realize that Microsoft is notorious for lame E3 showings? So not sure why we should expect anything different this year, especially after we watched an hour of what Microsoft thought we wanted in a gaming console; tv, sports, fantasy football, tv, talking too tv, etc. That r...
Last gen Battlefield 3 and Medal of Honor: Warfighter on PC looks far better than this new gen Call of Duty. You would think with the money Activision makes they could actually afford to keep up graphically with last gen games, at least.
And please fire the idiot that approved the new name and design look. I didn't think they could build something even bulkier and uglier than the Xbox 360, but they did it. How is it that kids during their spare time can come up with such amazing mock designs, and this is the best that Microsoft can come up with?
Wow. So they can't even make the new Call of Duty on the Xbox One look even close to the old Battlefield 3 on PC. In fact, if you've been playing on a good PC for the last few years, every thing they showed was hugely disappointing.
Neonridr, you missed the entire point. They shouldn't have packaged it up and put it on shelves in the warehouse in the first place with such a glaring issue. Also, this isn't a fine tuning issue, this is a really big mistake that can really hinder the experience of the product. Slow loading times is one thing, but lets not forget all of the reports of Wii U's bricking when they were shut off or their battery died during update. These customers are left holding a very expensive br...
If you ever took a business class in college, you would know it's a smart business decision by Microsoft; plain and simple. There are hundreds of millions of PC owners who are potential customers. They also are smart enough to know that software is where the profits lie, and those who think that excluding an install base that is many times larger than their console base, is simply a failure at understanding business 101.
