You are absolutely right. I am actually getting pretty tired of the video game mob that seems to speak in hyperbole whenever some in the community dont like something. Has Stadia had a good launch, ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!! Only a fool would say otherwise, but acting like we have not seen companies turn things around is disingenuous. What we will see is how committed Google is to the platform because now they will have to "convince" consumers that they can deliver. This day and ag...

I dont know why we as a gaming community feel the need to disparage when we are articulating our points. There are different perspectives on this subject. The library of PS Now is a matter of preference. And not all fans want a subscription based model and there is nothing wrong with that. Gamepass is a great addition to the Xbox ecosystem but that doesnt mean that each player in the games industry must have the exact same offering. And while the move is fantastic, Microsoft and Sony are...

@Brave_Losers_Unite One thing the gaming community should work on is not painting all fans as the same. Anecdotal evidence of a small percentage of Sony's player base being unreasonable does not mean that Sony fans in general think everyone has to have the same mindset. Each and every console has fans that can be pretty rigid in their perspective but that does not and should not speak for the general player base.

I dont really follow how these deals come about, but this doesnt appear to be something that just happened out of the blue. What is your definition of lately? Sony and Activision have been partnering since Xbox decided not to this generation.

@sophisticated _chap Yes Dreams took a long time but the difference is Sony can afford a longer development cycles because we get so many first party exclusives. When Microsoft gets their studios pumping out exclusives they will be in the same position

Hey some games are not for everyone. I see Days Gone and cant wait to play. I can clearly see that the game is not the same as Last of Us. The game has a few similarities but that is about it. And until any of us get our hands on the game we dont really know.

And why wouldn't you be in favor of creators getting paid for their creations. If it wasnt for the rapper the dance would not exist in the game.

Just because you blatantly copy the dance and change the name doesnt make it any less egregious.

Naw actually they do have a case. And why wouldn't you be in favor of creators getting paid for their creations. If it wasnt for the rapper the dance would not exist in the game.

How ignorant do you have to be to not know that rappers have created many of the popular dances that frequent video games.

Yeah it is absolutely amazing how arrogant people are thinking they know what the timeframe for these major companies are to complete major undertakings.

2683d ago 16 agree6 disagreeView comment

Let's stop with the arrogance argument. Really it feels like that is the low hanging fruit that the gaming community goes to. Business wise it makes no sense for Sony to play nice with the COMPETITION. They are the market leaders and have no incentive. When players buy Fortnite stuff on another console and then bring that over to Sony via cross saves they don't make that money on those purchases. That has absolutely nothing to do with arrogance.

And a company...

As long as people don't complain about the price of the console in order to achieve the specs then we are good to go

it's comments like those that show why this industry can't grow up. Just because there is a "trigger" word used doesn't mean people beed to jump to a conclusion. Gamers should try and think with some nuance as to why maybe this time around the WAY drm is being handled actually benefits the end user. Clearly states in the piece that this is a much better system for the rights management. And also a system that is used in other digital marketplaces. Our industry need...

I am sorry you are hung up on $20. The game is amazing in VR. Please tell me you have at least tried it before your bashing the extra $20 you are unhappy about

Yeah at the end of the day I think the industry needs to re evaluate the pricing structure. I am not saying that every game needs to be $80 going forward. But to me it seems to make sense that if a game like Senuas Sacrifice is $30, then a game that requires double or triple the effort should cost double the price. Those premium AAA experiences would be justified in charging $79.99.

3006d ago 1 agree3 disagreeView comment

There is certainly room in the pricing structure for games of all prices. For a game like Senua, I believe based on what we got in that game the pricing was fair. But for games that take double or triple the man power to create it makes sense that game would be double or even triple the price and the same works in then other direction as well

3006d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

For any industry I believe in fair pricing. There is a fair expectation to have on both sides. As consumers the expectation cannot be push the medium forward, give us more immersive sandboxes to play in but oh by the way we don't want to pay for it.

It's like people think they can continue to ask for more and more in video games without having to fit the bill in some manner. The price of games is going to increase if you want loot boxes gone all together. As long as they are ok with that. The developers should not be slaving over games that are 2x, 3x the size scope and ambition and COST and the consumers see no effect in the pricing structure.

3006d ago 2 agree7 disagreeView comment

To be honest I never pay any mind to loot boxes nor have they ever ruined a gaming experience for me. This appears to a be a win in the short term but when the price of games goes up from $59.99 to $69.99 we will see how the industry takes it. And I am talking about the base game.
