I hope they make many iterations so they can get the experience to be as smooth and immersive as possible. For example, the move was pretty accurate for it's time and I hope with the improved camera that Morpheus will become even more accurate, as it needs to be, to be that much more immersive.
I hope this makes the game better but I'm confused. I'm genuinely curious as to the reason for all of the delays. Is this a new industry standard to announce a game and then delay or did most devs just underestimate the increased cost and time it would take to develop games this gen? Or maybe its all just a big coincidence or I didn't notice it last gen...
I think it's going to take a few years for them to get used to the PS4 before they can produce outstanding visuals, like how Uncharted 2 was far better visually than the first. However, their storytelling, like always, will probably stay great.
My biggest expectation is to see more immersive gameplay mechanics.
Yea, looks impressive. I feel like this would be much harder for game developers to incorporate into their games than Oculus Rift. But any game built from the beginning with this technology in mind could be amazing.
Besides much better textures and less jaggies, which is great, I see no other major improvements. I cant wait til the new consoles are the ones where development is focused, when we will see vast improvements and more features/effects not possible on old consoles.
@Abriael
In a way LOD and better shadows are similar to improved textures in that they increase the clarity of the image, but they don't add any new 'effects', they just make them better.
@tigertron
Not to burst your bubble but games with "in-game" trailers don't always live up to the visual fidelity of the original trailer.
While I do believe the developers originally intended to match that graphical fidelity and set their bar high; development costs and hardware limitations usually require some cutbacks in final quality. but who knows, it could match it if they go all out, but I doubt it.
video doesn't work
Just an article under the disguise of being a satire on console wars, but still a flame bait article itself.
...useless
looks like they pretty much pulled that prediction out of their a$$.
Launch title??
"The kit improves upon the Oculus Rift DK2 with a higher resolution OLED display."
This article should state what the actual resolution difference is. I mean, is the Crescent Bay a game changer or a slight increase?
