Umm pretty sure that Terra and Celes came quite a bit before Lightning.
In Japan each game has sold about 200-250k copies each whereas the first game sold about 220k in Europe and North America, the second one bombed, it sold 60k in Europe and North America.
What would fix the original VC would have been multiplayer. Trophy support wouldn't add much since the game has those in-game medals that act pretty much as trophies.
Replace support from Sony with gamers. At the end of the day companies like Sega make games to make money. They clearly didn't make much of a profit on Valkyria Chronicles (it was in development for 3-4 years and seems to have quite a decently sized staff working on it) considering a large portion of sales were after the game received a price cut, otherwise why would they go on the cheap to release games on platforms that are cheaper to develop for?
I don't blame them. People just didn't buy Valkyria Chronicles. The first game only sold 220k in the West, most of which was after a price cut.
Wasn't Sakaguchi saying that the graphics weren't a factor when the game was coming out?
I hope their meeting ends with them deciding to release the game in the West.
This cosplayer does some really amazing cosplay. I am still in awe of her cosplay of Valkyria Chronicles' Selvaria Bles.
I enjoyed FF XII a lot, gameplay was decent, the battle system was an interesting change of pace and refreshing; the only thing I didn't like was the story.
It's hard to say what I didn't like about the story without spoiling it. :(
I just feel that the game could have benefited from a more grounded story. I wonder if the story changes are a reflection of Yaz leaving the project mid-way through production?
The game does look pretty damn nice, it would be great to see a company like NISA or XSeed pick it up for the West.
Don't get me wrong I don't mind if it's British, French, German or Swedish accents, I'll enjoy it regardless of the accent as long as the characters are speaking a language I can understand.
I am just curious whether XSeed will make changes to the dub and text for the North American market and whether they will include the original audio track as well.
I wonder whether they will keep the English audio for the European version or whether they will re-dub it?
So has anyone bought it yet? How are the loading times?
Well, Udon Entertainment did localize 1 of them and has the 2nd in the pipeline...
No better time than now to get a copy of the game. The DLC is by itself one of the best additions, adding 22 more missions making the game even more of a blast!
I wonder if lightning will strike twice (hopefully it will!) as a price drop was what reignited interest and sales in the first Valkyria Chronicles back in 2009.
That's one of the points of trying to get Sega to release it as a digital download on the PSN, for the PSV and PSP.
That is pretty impressive to get someone who has worked with the composer and of course Sega for a piano collection of the music from this series.
You guys should keep your eye on the Gallian Liberation Front and support them to get this game here as Ruby mentions in the video.
Unfortunately I doubt we'll see VC3 in the States except by fan translation.
