that was pretty much the same experience that i had with Metro 2033 i really liked it

their are so many Loyalist out there for the 360 and PS3 and all it does is prevent them from playing all the good games that are on other systems. I like to play games so i got an xbox 360 and a PS3 i use both systems as much as the other both have pros and cons but at the end of the day i just want to play games after work and having both sysems lets me play everything thats not a Wii or PC exclusive

I was a huge fan of the CODMW when that came out it was my favorite online game then i bought MW2 and loved it at first then all the glichers, campers, and runners (people running around with shotguns) came and ruined the game haven't played it since and now Activision is going to have to earn my money by proving that they can make a competent game again. It is a heavily modified version of the Halo 2/3 engine but they took so much stuff out of that engine that it no longer resembles the old one in anyway, like how Unreal 3 is just a modified version on Unreal 2 and so on.
Basically you take an existing engine keep everything you like and write new code for everything you want/need in it Ubisoft, Bungie, Epic, ID, and many other developers do this. It is way to expensive and time consuming to write a new engine from scratch.

I realize that DX9.0c is the last version of DX9 and i do agree with you on everything else i was just correcting the one mistake that i saw that you made. Cry Engine 3 will be amazing no doubt on consoles but unfortunately we wont see its full beauty unless its on a PC with a DX10.1 card or higher like the new DX11 line from ATI (HD58xx) or Nvidia's soon to be launched Geforce 300 series or on the Next generation of consoles.

the ATI GPU in the 360 does have hardware Tessellation support, and has a lot of what is in shader model 4.0 just not everything, you can think of the xbox 360 gpu as being DX9.7 almost DX10 but not quite.
Exactly one of the reasons i love Halo is because it not one of those "gray" shooters like Killzone, Gears of War, the xbox 360 and PS3 are capable of producing beautiful colors like in Halo and Uncharted. One of the reasons that im looking forward to Modern Warfare 2 is because they are adding a lot of color to the game.
And these Gray games don't look more realistic to me, when i step outside i dont see a world that has 16 colors i see a world that has over 16,000,00...
