obviously he's not a console programmer, let alone a game programmer
maybe if he was he'd understand how invaluable gpu time is in closed system but he doesnt because he probably thinks that any company that can get a game running at 1920x1200 at 60fps with 16x msaa ON A PC is the best developer ever, wow what an accomplishment that is
that must be why youre a game programmer, or even more impressive a console game programmer
oh wait, youre neither? youre just some guy who plays games?
oh no, i guess i should stop using the mouse i bought
nice damage control by the community manager, unfortunately captures at "whatever" ratio dont manipulate the pixel ratio of native to added
best looking 360 game without question
although the months are different, not that it matters
results of ps3 outselling 360 by 25k in a week the same day npd results show up
imagine that, 25k
they have, its just that so much of it is in the dark
La Sexta
im a GOW fan but you guys are delusional
where did SSM say they were used STRICTLY to hide loading?
because here's a quote from SSM
"however some scenes were just to epic to run real time and thus are recorded videos."
RAM BUDGET
the reason you cant tell the difference between real-time and pre-rendered in engine is because there are NO OVER THE TOP special effects during its pre-rendered scenes like whats being done i...
WRONG
not EXACTLY like GOW3
most of god of war 3's cut scenes are in game
but for the few that arent (pre-rendered) theyre still in engine with in game assets with in game post processing effects
i cant wait to see this character in game - http://i240.photobucket.com...
^ ill wait for a "behind the bullet&q...
really?
Most GOWIII cutscenes won’t be pre-rendered
MOST? not ALL? MOST?
like i said, there were a few scenes in GOW where THEY DIDNT HAVE ENOUGH RAM to do them in real time
its just that GOWs prerendered scenes are still in-engine with in-game assets and in-game post processing effects
they dont look pre-rendered because they didnt try to pull off graphical effects not found in the game itself like alan wake is doing
pretty sure there are pre-rendered scenes in GOW3
pretty sure they said there were scenes that they had to prerender because they just didnt have the ingame ram budget to do it
the reason they dont look pre-rendered (if they are) is because they didnt have to add any over the top effects not found in the game itself like other games
all the scenes are in-engine, theye just not all being rendered in real time by YOUR ps3
if i have time, ill t...
those games used pre-rendered cut scenes at times, especially for the larger scenes
they just didnt use outrageously higher quality models + post processing effects that may not even be in the game
GOW3 uses pre-rendered cut scenes at times
it just doesnt use outrageously higher quality models
there is no problem
but im pretty sure SSM has gone on record to say that the kratos model used in cutscenes is the same in game
and i wouldnt be surprised if the same was the case for ND and drake
so we have thatgamecompany and also That Games Company?
unfortunate consequence for the people who are actually trying to do legitimate things on linux for ps3
as for geohotz, his only goal was to hack the ps3 and he did so through otherOS, the actual hack was hardware based but everything on the software side was done through otherOS
this isnt really aimed at geohotz though, this is aimed at the thousands of followers who jumped on his hack and are now trying to run custom firmware and pirated games
im sure ...
pretty sure that exact system used in the "everything" commercials cant even play linux anyway
[kevin butler voice] "vroom vroom vroom"
see thats the problem
some people are too slow to realize that these guys are engineers for an R&D team and not video game makers
where the hell did this come from
