this is sick. Cant wait to pick this up. This is probably the first real good thing rare has done for Microsoft since they bought them out. Bring the old, awesome, classic versions of the games that made Rare famous...and port them to XBLA. They shoulda done that from the beginning and just port PD, Banjo, Conkers, Goldeneye(although theres debates on how that one would work), etc. to the 360 instead of making PDZ, which was okay for the 360 launch, but took a lot of the fun gameplay mechanic...

thats true...I remember them saying that it was originally supposed to be an RTS style game(edit: or third-person shooter). And yea it wouldnt of had the same impact as the Halo FPS we know, but Im just wondering what it would have been like if Halo stayed on the Mac and how Apple would have handled it in the gaming market(if they kept Halo, would they have entered into the gaming scene instead of Microsoft?)

I find it kind of funny how Bungie originally were developing Halo for the Macintosh way back when, then let it go to Microsoft (well Microsoft bought Bungie out, but still) It would have been interesting to see if Apple new how much the success of Halo has brought in the past 9-10yrs, could have made them millions more or could have gotten them a place in the gaming industry, but Apple can only dream of stuff like that now.
so im guessing the parts cost about as much as they are charging for it, meaning either they are breaking even with every console as we speak, or at least getting pretty close to it. So a price cut would make sense to gain other peoples attention about the PS3, but I really dont think they would need to release a Slim version now.

how much it costs to make a Playstation 3 now-a-days? i remember when it first came out, it was around $800-$900 to make and they were selling them for $599.99 at launch. Does anyone know if the components of the PS3 have come down in price? cause if they lower the price of the PS3 (and the slim PS3) even more, wont they be losing more money per each console they sell?(assuming the :cost to make-price to sell" ratio is around the $200 difference)

While I agree with all of you in saying that Xbox 360 has clearly the most dominant line-up this year, I dunno where the PS3 fanboys get off saying that PS3s line-up is so great, with all its 2 big exclusives coming out this year: Resistance 2 and LBP (Home I dont count as a game, although it is exclusive). the author of this story is just getting hammered by the people replying on his blog. Just read the comments for yourself, its funny how this author makes no sense about a commercial thats fairly easy to understand, if you "think" outside the box about it.
does anyone even know anything about hockey on here? and do you know how to play hockey in a game? their first step was admitting that Vista was not the greatest thing ever, and it's probably too late to fix anything on it now. What they should now focus on is making their next OS, Windows 7, an even better improvement for technology, less hassel and buges to fix, and make it simple to use, along with having great gaming capabilites, Direct X 11.

I like how this game got a better average review score than Mercenaries 2. Having said that I havent played any of the viva pinata games and dont plan on it, just cause im not into those types of games. But im glad rare has made a new IP worth talking about, and I still have faith in them that they can make a better Perfect Dark and better new IPs, or remake some of their older classics, unlike some of the people on here, who not only hate M$, but have no faith in Rare anymore. Yea ive got an ipod touch and im on vista, but yea, mine keeps saying backing up data, i have no idea why, but it does, but it doesnt affect any of the syncing or downloading or upgrading i do though. You might just have to uninstall iTunes, then re-install iTunes 8, then try it again. But I have no idea why its no letting you upgrade to 2.1?
really amazing to see Jak & Daxter on the PS3. It would just mean another sick, awesome and true franchise from PS2 on the PS3 and lookin awesome as ever. think ratchet and clank, god of war, mgs, killzone....all these franchises and more im leaving out, were terrific (killzone not so much) on PS2, and have been taken to the next level and just completely AWESOME on the PS3.
