Read that back to yourself, doesnt make sense :D
Im beginning to wish I kept my Xbox 360 and not bought a PS3. I much prefer the triggers on the Xbox controller.
Im pleased that Ive found a group of people who feel the same away about the physics. People try to defend the game on merits of the graphics, but to me the physics in a simulation game should be first priority.
Forza 2 feels real, you can feel the momentum and friction. GT5 Demo just makes the cars feel like theyre floating with a horrific amount of body roll. I so want this game to be good though.
Ive just recently sold my Xbox 360 in favour of a PS3 for var...
Thats the one guys yes, Laguna Seca. Excellent track.
Fifth Gear is like the poor little cousin of Top Gear. I still watch it, but they cant match the photography, comedy and exclusives of Top Gear. They do have Vicki Butler Henderson, but she seems to look very rough nowadays, shame! More recently theyve seemed to target different consumers, trying to please folk who are looking to buy their next family saloon. I suppose theres place for both Top Gear and Fifth Gear as ...
There was one old show dedicated to the demise of the Honda NSX where Clarkson tried to beat a lap time he did on GT4 on the PS2. He went to a US track, forget the name, the one with the legendary cork-screw.
Anyway, was very interesting how similar the virtual and real track were, barring certain areas which were different. Very good episode that, you may find it on youtube. He was emphasising that on a game you can simply hit retry, where in real life the results are more ...
Do we know if theres any other improvement on the DS3 other than rumble?
How about some better triggers so your fingers dont slide off! Worst ergonomic mistake in gaming history IMHO! (OK, Im sure someone can prove me wrong lol)
After some quick digging, it seems its still not 100% confirmed who the Stig is.
However the clues lead to either;
Olivier Panis - Ex F1-driver
Paul Rees - Young Formula Renault driver
Theres talk that there may even be multiple Stigs. Id be sad if there was, as that means the lap times would be inconsistent.
Apparently the 1st stig, Perry McCarthy, was replaced as he couldnt keep his mouth shut and was spoiling the whole hype of who...
Im not sure who the 2nd generation Stig is. Its someone who is familiar with F1 cars as on an older series he drove a Toyota F1 car indoors at high speed.
Theres a hell of a lot people it could be, profession wise I think he'll be a test driver for a manufacturer, a lot of those guys have been through the GP2 / F1 ranks. He could even be a BTCC driver, i.e. Jason Plato!
Thats the problem with hype, if a company hypes a game too much, the consumer will be dissapointed in the end result and so will the pro reviewers. However if you do just enough marketing you let the consumer make their own mind on what to expect, most of the time they will be pleased with the end result.
Im sorry to keep referring to Forza 2, but in my eyes its still better than GT as it stands purely in terms of the physics and handling. At the end of the day that is whats ...
Here is my initial thoughts on the DEMO of Prologue...
Pros;
+ Car models are spectacular
+ Sense of speed is very realistic
+ Presentation, as expected, is wonderful
Cons;
- That god awful tyre screeching sound which isnt realistic
- Even the Mitsurbish Evo with hard suspension seems to have too much body roll. Under braking all of the cars seems to nose dive too much.
- The driving still feels a little loose and floaty...
Top Gear is my favourite show. My Fiancee will even sit and watch it with me, which is unusual!
During the development of Forza 2 a lot of people begged for the Top Gear test track to be included.
The test track has some terrific racing lines as well as the difficult "Gambon" corner.
I believe Top Gear has many fans the world over, its great to know our cousins over in the US have an appreciation for it, either if they sometimes dont get...
Fair point about the handling, it could be that the cars in question are setup with very soft suspension, even if the bumpers are leaving paint on the road.
In terms of the sound, its the same exact tyre sound as GT4 and GT:HD, which unfortunately was also very offputting those games too.
Dont get me wrong, I so want this game to be superb, Im just not buying into the hype just yet. I need to setup a JAP account on PSN and try the Prologue Demo really.
My favourite racing game on the Xbox 360 was of course Forza 2, in terms of graphics we all know GT5 will be in a different league. HOWEVER, from what gameplay Ive seen so far of GT5 Prologue is seriosuly leading me to question that Forza 2's physcis engine may be significantly better.
Forza 2 is the only racing game I have played which really does give the player a feel of the vehicles momentum, in terms of acceleration, braking and cornering. All I see from GT5 so far is se...
..that unlike PGR3 theres not one overpowered car/setup which overshadows every other in multiplayer.
In PGR3 its just plain boring now seeing 5 Ferrari F50s race each other in every game...
Ive got high hopes for Forza 2, its the only reason I bought an Xbox 360, being an avid PC fan
I own a Samsung 40" 1080p. To be honest the games look fine, dare I say an unnoticeable difference. I believe the difference will be more apparent on larger TVs than mine however.
I will say Blurays look pin sharp at 1080p though, well worth getting the 1080p model. I could have had a 46" 720 or 40" 1080p. I went for quality rather than quantity.
