The thing with game is that people have to pay $70 upfront to... try enjoy whatever eccentricity the makers want to serve to people. And one of the biggest flaw of game reviews is that the reviewers often receive the product for free to review it as it is, not as a product slapped with price tag. That often creates a gap between them and paying customers as one judged the game on its own merit and the other judged it as a product worth its price or not.
As someone who platinumed every single nominees except Balatro, yes, yes it does.
Metaphor? Finished it twice.
FF7 Rebirth? Finished it twice.
BMW? Platinumed.
Elden Ring DLC? Finished but it didn’t have trophies.
Astro Bot? Platinumed.
Balatro? Played some in my phones at least.
Tbh each one deserved the award for different reasons. If BMW won I wouldn’t mind it either it’s an amazing game, but to say Astro B...
lol what? there are lots of great games in recent years compared to early generations I don’t even have time to play them all. What are you even smoking?
Not gonna lie, seeing the many bots from other games in it brought nostalgia in full force. Made me realised the playstation brand has been with me for almost 3 decades. I actually replayed uncharted 1-4 after playing the uncharted stage in astro bot.
Wasn’t there a diablo lead recently that said people should call arpg games “diablo-like”? Sounds to me that Blizzard is just full of people with narcistic personality disorder.
Yeah, early access starts Dec 6th. To access either you buy packages (starts from $30) or you’ve spent around $480 lifetime in PoE 1. The packages contain the same amount of money in mtix currency + bonuses. Actual f2p comes next year (their estimate) when they move from early access to full release.
I can picture it already..
Here's a wooden pickaxe for free that can destroy a stone in only 20 hits! We also have a golden pickaxe that can do that in 1 hit, but you have to either grind 100 hours to get it or pay $30! Now only $20 for a limited time thanksgiving sale!
They've lost the chance to do it the moment handheld PC was born.
PC is an open platform, meaning hardware-wise there's always gonna be a manufacturer turning whatever peak handheld technology at the time into a product without concerning themselves with games library. Not to mention Sony themselves have opened the flood of their 1st party games coming to PC, which means exclusives threat are pretty much non-existent. Even Nintendo I'm pretty sure will lose their handhel...
I'd argue woke stuff isn't as much a problem as woke staff. Make your game as woke as possible, I don't care, as long as your staffs were hired based on meritocracy and not DEI quota. In veilguard the actual "woke stuff" isn't even 10% of the total game length but because you've got incapable writers and narrative designers making the dialogues and scenes, the rest of the game suffers from it.
Writing and narrative department is always the fir...
That’s right, handheld form factor is currently limited by tech bottleneck. It’s because unlike its static counterpart (PC and console), handheld has to bear in mind portability and battery too. Portability especially affects all of the parts because you can’t just slap bigger sized parts and be done with it like PC and consoles.
Basically every current top portable devices are peak of handheld designs, it’ll take a breakthrough or two in technology to bring it to PS5 leve...
While we’re talking about it, Persona 3 Reload didn’t get nominated for anything is a travesty. The music itself is way better than the nominees in that category.
Mate there’s a big fat $70 entry fee to “objectively try and see the game”. If you can easily spend that for just a “try and see”, good for you, but you can’t expect people to spend that amount of money and not having personal expectations. Sometimes people just forget game is a product and customers buy product to satisfy their wants or needs, and proceed to be angry when customers don’t.. want it.
Give it for free if you want “objective review”, because the act of buying ...
