That isn't exactly fair. For one, he does what he does to be funny. He's an entertainer.
Second, like smurfee said, he's also a game critic, whether he's meant to be funny or not. Game critics don't always like the games they play. They are often assigned.
Besides, he has expressed his love for many franchises. Thief, Hitman, and multiple games that he even dumps on in his videos.

Because Halo, Grand Theft Auto, Metal Gear, etc...they all get away with murder with these giddy journalists.
Some of the social commentary felt a bit weak and forced, especially compared to the general ideology and message. I hope they do it better in the movie.
I can't see the movie being better than the game. Exploring Rapture, uncovering things, being a part of the moral choices...all big factors in what made Bioshock great. Along with the gameplay, of course.

Edit: After some research and watching some gameplay videos, I have found that it is a weak Hack and Slash game, ported from the Iphone.

The PSP will most certainly be cheaper. Don't doubt the power of that, either. Handhelds tend to be parental purchases, which tend to be highly influenced by price.

Horrible idea for his games, considering all of the promises he makes and doesn't deliver on.
They don't need defending. They just need to be done right. Reserved for when something can't be done in-game (whether that be an event, or focus on character emotion, etc). Something meaningful and kept to the point as possible.
I'm not a fan of MGS4's style of cutscenes. Too many involve people just sitting around...talking. For ten minutes at a freaking time. There were some cool ones, though.
