Fortunatly you DON`T have to buy clothes or anything to utilize it`s capabilities. You DO have to buy XBL to do something as simple as enjoy your online portion of the game. I most likely wont spend a dime on Home, but since it is a big project for Sony to take on, I think it`s cool they left it as a option and it`s not forced on you to buy anything.
Home/PSN is FREE, PCs are FREE, XBL is not.

Home isn`t a game, don`t treat it like one. I just left and when I did there were lots of people have lots of fun in there just talking to other people. Social interaction is never a bad thing.
