Really neat stuff, I'd love to see how preservation ends up actually working - especially 25 or 50 years from now. So many games are lost from the cartridge era.
Aww Yiss.
Ya'll realize that the image on N4G is photoshopped right? You have to click through to the actual comparison.
Oh no, what will we ever do without EA Sports?
Microsoft DOES retain the right to change their minds about the DRM policies. I wouldn't be surprised if some things got reversed because of all the backlash.
It's almost like they have an opinion or something.
Hey, every gaming site had to start somewhere.
It's almost like, oh I dunno, a review is going to be an opinion. Is this such a big surprise to people? Besides, a 7.5 is a terrible review? Are you kidding me? I don't care about the Microsoft connection, there is no such thing as an object review. An objective review doesn't exist.
I would be so stoked for a new Banjo game - hopefully it isn't some crappy Kinect game
Well that's like your opinion, man.
but seriously, the price barrier really puts me off from consoles. I already have a computer and it isn't that expensive to upgrade it. Plus, I can get tons of super cheap games off of Steam sales instead of buying full price retail titles or having to deal with whatever the hell the pre-owned game nonsense that the Xbox One is on about.
And Ouya at $100 :D
Has any console actually had a good reveal though? I feel like this happens every time and we all still act shocked.
Fair point. The hardcore gamer who pays attention to specs and things is really the minority at this point, maybe, say 15% of the people that buy the X1 will be hardcore gamers. The casual majority is important for sales. After Microsoft gets the money from the casuals they can focus on appeasing the hardcores.
I agree, but I think one interesting thing to note is that of the most negative portrayals seem to come out of Asia. I'm not sure what that means, but most of the strong female characters you mention all come from US and EU game developers.
ssshhhhh, I still stand by the price and size points!
I find that if your significant other isn't into video games, a good way to start them off is a board/tabletop game to ease them into gaming.
It was a pretty massive endeavor, and isn't great. Show uses a ton of resources and, unfortunately, is just kind of mediocre. I have the feeling that if the show was a web series instead of a cable broadcast, it would probably do a lot better and be more easily forgiven for not being amazing. Defiance has so many amazing shows to compete with right now, someone coming from watching GoT would be super disappointed (even though GoT is a high standard).
Tribunal is helpful, but it also ends in tons of people threatening to report players for nothing. I can't count the number of times I've seen someone simply get outplayed and then teammates get reported for "trolling" or "feeding".
I'm a big fan, overall - I'm just not crazy about tilting my head to read the degrees meter on each thumbnail. It's pretty annoying. I think there are ways to keep the triangular theme but also have easier-read degrees.
