Activision hasnt let them do anything they wanted, did you watch any of the E3s prior to release? They wanted to make a COMPLETELY different game.

Honestly the game is fun as hell, literally all it needs is true open world MMO gameplay. Take out all (or most of) the loading screens, make PvP a gambling/competition thing that even PvEers could take part in. And it would be the most addicting game ever made. I am a die hard destiny fan, or at least i was. Bungie and Activision have lost me however. Unless there are at least 2 raids, a new arena, tens of multiplayer maps, and a new planet to patrol, new weapon types, new enemies, and way better story (which i saw absolutely none of) I cannot justify buying this DLC. Bethesda doesnt win rewards for best voice acting for every game they make for no reason. Trust me ALL of the dialogue in this game will be amazing, even the little kid that you only hear one time the entire game as you explore a wasteland city will have an awesome VO.

If you are familiar with MMOs there are quite a few things ESO does that is very unique, choada cited Combat which is very obviously the most drastic difference. If you are getting the CE-7700-7 error code, simply download a free title that you have not downloaded before (ala Playstation Vue for me) then return to your library and download ESO. Worked for me.
Your best bet is to wait until the game is released, play through the tutorial then meet people in-game. Telling people to add you via a comment is not very effective. Most people dont play games at the same time you play games (unless you play all day everyday) and in ESO you are restricted to playing with people who choose the same faction as you. You will find people recruiting for their personal guilds all the time and that is a great place to start to make friends in Cyrodiil.
PS4 also has this feature, me and my brother in law use it very often and are most definitely going to be playing this game together as well.

Tried so hard to get into Morrowind but i just could not. Im not really a fan of elves and elvish things, i certainly prefer the more western styles of oblivion/skyrim. To many pointy things i guess. But omg there was like a million different weapon types in Morrowind what happened to Halberds :(
Story is important, but in an MMO it should not be the main priority and they understood that well. If Destiny 1 had this amazing story everyone wanted those same people would not be playing at all to this day. You have to understand to have a hundred cutscenes would have butchered this game more than it already was, think about it like this. They didnt even plan on having Raids until the lead Story writer quit.
