i wonder if they have internet acess on these ps3's. They could prob just make a video/audio chat call right from the ps3 and not need the cell phone lol. They would need a PSeye or some kind of headset but worst case they could send msg's.
this has been possible for months i have a super nintendo emulator, NES, sega genises, and a game boy advance emulator with all of the games for all of those systems. this is nothing new becides the fact thats its using geohots hack opposed to the jailbreak hack that has been around for months.
yes they will be able to play online. The keys allow homebrew to run from unhacked systems meaning full access to PSN.

People think sony have these majic tools to sort out in real time which game IDs are running at this point in time and then on top of that take all of those user ID's and put them in this imaginary Ban list. come on. sony hasnt banned anyone yet so why do you think they can or will. untill it happens everything u just said is pure speculation.

all of you saying the games are too big where are you getting your information from. you are all saying that 40-50 gig is too big. First of all only because bluray can hold that doesnt mean that the game uses all of that space. go on any torrent site and take a look at the file sizes before you talk. 80 percent of the games right now are between 4-14 gig. Also if u get a game like the new NBA JAM thats between 1 and 2 gig. Even Gran Turismo 5 which is a first party title and you would think ...
He just told you that a custom firmware wouldnt be needed. any custom apps would just be loaded with sonys own code so the ps3 would allow you to play it. you would still be on sonys officail firmware hense very hard to detect since the system itself is not "hacked"

I think if it has the same specs as the current ps3s out there then it will be the same price. If they drop some features out of the slim then i can see them dropping the price. Also i would bet that they drop the price of the normal ps3 and then just replace the inventory with the slim one at the newer lower price point.

just install it on a different hard drive, thats what i did. Ive been using windows 7 for about a week now and i like it. it does seem to use a little less resorces than vista does however vista runs like a dream on my machine also because im running a quad core with 4 gigs of ram. tomorrow im going to install it on my p4 1.4ghz pc and see how it runs on that.
keep in mind there was a delay with the game. the game was supposed to come out a week earlier. alot of people prob didnt even know if the game was back in stock or not. lets see the first week sales first before these xbots strat jumping down peoples throat.

Bluray is obviously the next step so it will succeed. movie studios dont want digital distribution because they know hackers will find a way around encryption and everyone will have free movies. bluray sales are low because bluray players and the movies still cost alot more then dvds.im not saying it will happen soon but when price drops to a somewhat similar price to dvd it will pass dvd and become the norm. you can forget about digital distribution for now, hard drives are not big enough ...
I see some of you are trying to compare this to driving a car so let’s do that.
If I have a car I’m aloud to do whatever i want to the car as long as its "street legal". If its not "street legal" I’m still allowed to do drive on my own property just not on public streets.
So if we compare this to the jailbreak scene, people should be allowed to do whatever they want to there ps3s. If they choose to jailbreak though they shouldn’t be allow...
