I think your right, considering they are starting to release detailed accounts of what will be on the PS store, as well as what will be in their "Welcome Back" initiative.

You know what, I'm inclined to agree with stealth500k. GTAIV really lacked the "extracurricular" activities present in PS2-era GTA titles, and LA Noire sounds like it will be going the way of Mafia 2: 99.9% focus on story, leaving behind a huge open world to take advantage of for side missions and fun distractions. I mean, isn't that the point of an open world game? I think RDR did a great job with those fun little distractions and unlockables, but LA Noire looks to be takin...
I was about to say the exact same thing. I preordered the game under that assumption recently. If I pick it up for PS3 and the first Alice isn't included, I'll be quite pissed.

I actually just spoke to someone who works at Volition games here in Champaign, IL. I asked him what the PSN downtime meant for their studio. He told me that since the Red Faction demo was supposed to go up on PSN weeks ago, but alas has not because of this downtime, they are losing possibly thousands of potential units sold. And that's just a demo! I can't even imagine how bad it is for studios or publishers who primarily distribute paid content on ser...
You know, thats a great point. I forgot that all PS+ subscribers will eventually get access to the beta, but they can't possibly allow ALL the new-coming PS+ members in, can they? Hmmmmm....
Not only great PR, but smart business strategy as well. Think about it: SCE is providing EVERYONE with a 30 day PS+ subscription. Imagine the amount of people who will pay to resubscribe after those 30 days. This PSN downtime has basically provided Sony with a golden opportunity to promote the hell out of PS+. Genius... Almost makes it seem like the PSN downtime was Sony's doing... Cue dramatic music, now! :)
I really hope they catch whatever little shits were responsible for this. I want them to be crucified and paraded around the streets, so we can toss our fecal matter at them, just like they did to Mussolini back in 1945. I think that would make up for my inability to play Portal 2 Co-op or Socom 4 online...
