I kinda see where trhe guy is coming from, but as I'm one of those selected to be in the beta, one thing is very clear to me. They can, and have "pulled it off."

I've been playing their games since I was a kid, starting with Gothic. People like me understand that with their titles, it's give and take.
Sometimes you've gotta give up solid animations for fun RPG mechanics. They don't have Bethesda resources, after all.
I'm a weird one I guess. I just beat it and found it to be quite underwhelming. I thought the gameplay was pretty repetitive and I cared little for the characters as well as the pretty bland world they inhabit.
I'm one of GTAIV's critics, but playing Sleeping Dogs just made me want to go back to Liberty.
To each their own I suppose! But one thing is for certain - I'm salivating at the mere thought of Grand Theft Auto V now.

GG is getting pretty big. Their whole team isn't devoted exclusively to Mercenary. If I were a betting man, I'd say they're working away at a PS4 title simultaneously.
I enjoyed 7, but really wasn't into the mandatory characters throughout the campaign.
I miss the old mode - where you pick a character and play as him/her throughout.
I'm already looking forward to The Last of Us II on PS4 lol.

I've found that gameplay for portable devices looks awful in trailers. Wait for some off-screen footage.

Take it easy. I'm sure people merely disagree with you on not minding them.
Fact is, they were poorly implemented. You could seldom drive on the roads because crossing outposts would get your vehicle shot up way too much.
Moreover, they offered very little incentive to raid. At best they offered ammo, something that could safely be acquired at hideouts.
And re-spawning enemies is ok, but NOT at outposts littering just about every inters...
