isnt steambox more for the gamers who dont have a gaming rig, or is valve leaving all pc development and only developing for steambox?¿ im only asking cause if you have a gaming pc with steam buying steambox would make no sense. to each his own i guess..kryptos/orbis/wiiU(only if zelda/metroid and eternal darkness come out for it) will only get steambox if half life3 is exclusive to it.
i dont see how this affects anything really. ms is catering to all casual and hardcore. if youve been following news on next gen this old news. ms wants to be in every home be it the person who plays once in awhile but watches alot of movies and other programing or the hardcore like most of us who just wants to game. its a win win imo...

ok im talking this gen of online network. i know dreamcast/ps2/xbox1 had online i owned them all. even then xbox live was still the best service! halo 2/crimson skies/forza/pgr2...every online console game was better on xbl back in the days.... oh and ps2 wasnt online ready from the get go like dreamcast and xbox you had to get the online kit you hook up in back of ps2 fat, i remember it came with the final fantasy game bundle/ wasnt til slim that it came with built in ethernet if im not mist...
dude if it wasnt for xbl there would be no PSN and to truly take advantage of PSN you have to upgrade to plus..which means you have to pay. I pay for xbl and psn+ i have no problem my ps3 games collection has grown significantly since i started paying for plus...nowadays you have to pay for everything.

Xbox doesn't need to do well in Japan for it ti succeed. It proved that a long time ago. Japanese developers are awesome but its fair to say that the western developers ran the shown this gen and probably the next one aswell.
Ok article some very good points. Xbox live needs to be free and MS does need new exclusives.. one thing I will say is that Ms did well even without exclusives and I never found myself saying oh I wish God of war was on xbox or heavy rain or any other ps3 exclusives. I just went and bought a ps3 to play them. My main gripe with Sony is long installs and updates, besides that everything else is good!
I have xbox live since it came out and just like you I have my friend and family on it. So hard for me to give up, but I hope that when new console comes out that Microsoft will have free online play. Either way I know I'm gonna buy it, but my kids will not be getting one if I still have to pay. I pay for mine in addition to 2 of my daughters and just yesterday my wife asked why are we paying for Internet and xbox live? Damn!!!

Oh, no cross platform gaming... blame it on microsoft!! I would like to see it on some games like sports and war games, but if it doesnt happen its like whatever man..theres already enough people to game with.
God willing, I'm hoping to get Xbox since its probably coming out 1st, then PS4 whenever that comes out. I'm getting a Wii U for kids. But if Nintendo somehow can get Eternal Darkness and a new Zelda game, Id buy the Deluxe! And I'm assuming that if Valve is making Steambox that Half Life 3 will be exclusive to SBox/PC so if that happens I will probably buy that as well.

For a console that doesn't have many exclusives the Xbox sure sells well! Either way hopefully its because all the new IPs are being made for the Durango. I'm pretty sure MS is looking to have a great launch lineup for its upcoming system. Also MS always gets timed exclusives be it a game or DLC. if that happens next gen. Then yeah im buying Xbox720 1st. as a former owner of a PS3 the worst thing is waiting for something others have been playing for awhile. Its just not the same feel ...

I love Sony and Killzone series, but why 4k¿?..I mean I love great looking games, but we barely have 1080P programing and they already want to push this 4k shit. I would like 1080p/60fps before any 4k talk!
