I actually think this is a pretty good list if you take it face-on. Some games I agree with (Zelda: OoT) and some I don't (RE4); but disagreeing with someone's opinion shouldn't make you lose respect for them, it should just inspire you to speak your own mind.
I must have played this game more than all my other 2008 purchases combined. It's not really about the attention to detail; rather, it's about the beautifully balanced simplicity of the gameplay. It's not flashy or particularly beautiful (when you're faced with 100 rampaging zombies, who gives a toss about bump-mapping?) - it's just atmospheric, compelling, addictive fun.
What a fascinating, insightful couple of hundred words that was. Totally opened my eyes. FFS.
And it deserves all the success it gets.
Been looking forward to this for ages. The voice acting's horrible, but the game seems pretty fun.
It's quite clearly a PR exercise. You've got to shout pretty loud to be heard above GoW2 and R2, to be fair...
TBH, the Arcade model can't really get much cheaper without hitting the price range of the PS2.
Are you kidding? It's lush. Whatever you're comparing it to in your mind, remember these are open world graphics.
Not that I can see Metacritic giving too much weighting to Destructoid. The reviewer can barely string a sentence together!
Crikey, that's a pretty deep article for 8 a.m.
From the sounds of it, SOCOM's problems are show-stoppers (i.e. major connection issues in an online game). However, as the dude from Lionhead says, a minority of people have suffered issues with Fable 2. I'm not part of that minority, and I'm on my second run through - so go figure.
The N64 controller was my favourite controller of all time. It was very comfortable, and the stick control was silky.
Gears of War 2: 4.3 (out of 10) based on 329 User Votes as of today.
Besides, no one gives a toot about user reviews, and they don't affect the Metacritic score, so it doesn't matter anyway.
Well, I'm convinced by this thoroughly in-depth article. Pre-order cancelled.
/sarcasm off
The plot between 1 & 2 took a pretty big leap anyway. You might miss out on a couple of in-jokes, though not too many as it's a different development team and by all accounts this is a more 'serious' game.
I believe Fallout 1 & 2 are available for a free (& legal) download. No excuses!
Surely the most pointless comparison ever.
Never underestimate the expectations of a Fallout fan. Secretly I want this game to be pants so I can give my overdraft a breather...
...is an awesome game. It's freeware, too, so no excuses.
I've been waiting for this game for SO LONG. Why o why did it have to come out at the same time as Fable II, Fallout 3, Gears 2, Left 4 Dead and Far Cry 2??
Excellent but they still bleached her, poor lass.
