i think the main thing we learned in this thread is the complete and utter hypocrisy that is the 360 fanboys. All of a sudden this is no big deal, except if this were the PS3, then it would be a big deal.

From a purely financial perspective, the 360 has been a complete bomb and adding the 1.2 billion for the extended warranty just adds to the problem. If MS didn't have deep pockets the 360 might be out of production. But once again, this is from a bean counters perspective looking at a gaming division who has yet to turn a profit.
speaking of forcing things on people, how about expensive proprietary hardware upgrades. Sounds like fun paying out the arshe for a hard drive, huh x-kiddies.
