Technically I guess it is an FPS, it's just not one in regards to what most people would associate an FPS with.
Interesting, Time Crisis isn't usually associated with the FPS genre although when you think about it, it is in the first person and you are shooting stuff. Either way, as long as that sense of pressure is still there, I'm game.

It's not so much that they need new IPs, they just need new ideas that appeal to the global audience. Most Western games aren't exactly entirely new, they may be a new IP but they're just building and adding on to an already solid idea or concept.

Guess the game just needs to be worth the price tag. If it's not, people won't support it. Then there's those who will just pirate because they're cheap bastards. The PSP and DS suffer from this as well.

They only have SFIV/SSFIV and TvC so far for this generation if I recall.
Good interview, I wasn't too fond of TC4 though. I still think the original was the best.
