@pete and first

Are you even reading the article?

Their applauding Sony supporting a console when most other companies would be focusing on prospective customers next gen.

Good for Sony and good for gamers.

Thanks to Rockstar and Sony I'll have $120 less to spend on next gen.

I'm not complaining though.

Yes, because we all know how much the Wii struggled.

Microsoft is trying to please everyone and is alienating their fans in the process. Nintendo has never had that problem.

Kinect should stick with what it is good at, and that isn't hard core games.

^^^ Funny thing is that in no way will this effect the gaming experience I plan on having with my PS4 this xmas.

It will actually be kind of nice having a clearer difference between each console, let everyone do what they are good at and we can enjoy them for what they are.

If I want to play some Mario with my kids I'm going WiiU.

If I want some party games with non-gaming friends or family I'm looking at you Kinect and Xbox One.

A gaming console?

4724d ago 12 agree3 disagreeView comment

But you know Microsoft is going to run this puppy ragged either way.

4724d ago 11 agree2 disagreeView comment

With a couple hundred million in marketing you'd be surprised.

I get your point, but when a game or developer shoots for such a specific audience, i.e. always online, it is a lot less alienating than an entire console.

Who, by the way, is looking for a much larger install base than any single game.

Uuummmmmm, the Xbone.

I was underwhelmed with the EA "exclusive" thought it would be much bigger. Especially when Madden came up on the screen but it turned out to just be the FIFA Ultimate Team.

I would guess nearly all the exclusives will be Kinect related, and most reports outside of the U.S. show no one was very impressed.

Maybe Microsoft will surprise us and just power through the next gen without having to cater to gamers. won't affect me either way because I'm done paying for online access let alone used/borrowed games.

Prediction: We will see a console, some concepts, and maybe hear from EA.

This isn't prime-time so I think the flashy stuff will come at E3.

You would think they had to of been, but it sounds like next year will be the first opportunity they have.

I keep going back to how they ran EA out of the NBA just by quality, I am sure they would bring the same type of innovations to football.

4751d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

Won't matter if it is NFL or NCAA 2K's next football game will make a huge dint in EAs pocket, and should be an awesome game.

But I agree that year will probably see one of EA's biggest efforts because they know they have some competition, I still plan on buying 2K's though.

I agree, but am secretely hoping every rumor was true just so I can see how Microsoft spins the features that everyone has been freaking out about into a "good" thing.

Each release consoles take more and more from the PC, Steam Box will be the first time PCs have tried to take something from consoles.

Depending on how successful that is we'll see where we are in the next 10 years. As for now PC and console gamers just have different priorities.

4759d ago 1 agree1 disagreeView comment

Although consoles will keep becoming more and more similar to PCs, there will always be a group of people who want to customize their gaming rig.

To my knowledge, console manufacturers need a common infrastructure to license games so a complete "merge" is unlikely.

Sums it up pretty well, people get too worked up about the Console/Platform Wars.

I enjoy gaming in general, and am excited to see what the next console generation brings.

E3 please
