Although this isn't news I think the focus on this is a good thing. The prices need to drop. You can buy an Arcade for the same price as a 120GB HDD (almost).
Glad my PS3 was cheap to upgrade. Won't upgrade my 360 anytime soon.
How much more powerful is 1 Playstation 3 compared to 1 Playstation 2?
I'm guessing that The Playstation 4 might be 3x as "powerful" as the PS3, or maybe more - or at least smarter.
And when not only PC-games but also consoles finally support raytracing we'll get a totally new level of detail in games, and BOY am I looking forward to that! :D

Since there will be no more Halo after Halo ODST I can easily see Call of Duty or Gears (or someting else) being the most popular shooter on the 360.
The article has some good points, but Halo isn't "in trouble", but Bungie kind of shot themselves in the foot saying they'll abandon Halo when ODST is released.
Imagine if Halo 4 came out. It would probably shatter records.

No, what they really should do is make a great piece of hardware and sell it at an affordable price - and integrate the whole itunes/appstore thing on it.. it would be a new portal for them to sell things - GAMES....

to watch the other sales numbers published for several European countries, where RE5 sells best on the PS3 across the board, while the huge amount of americans buying it for their 360 makes the game come out on top for the 360.
Sony definately needs to sell more PS3's in the US, that's where their challenge lies.
