FF13 was a real letdown, it tried to jam everything that was good about the FF titles since 10, but as we can see from the result everything fell apart.
I don't think of Metroid as shooter, it's more of an action adventure franchise. And even then Mega Man precedes it in terms of how influential they are.
If Tomb Raider is ever getting a chance at making a comeback, they need to rebuild the formula from the ground up.
MvC3 is the only game I'm really looking forward to at the moment. SFvT looks like a quick cash-in, and from what we've seen of DR2 it's not a huge step up from the original.
And of course, my fingers are crossed and hoping that they wake up and port Monster Hunter Tri and Tvc to PS3 and 360.
Not particularly excited for this if true. I want PSP to remain a handheld that's geared more towards gaming, instead of trying to be the jack-of-all-trades. I mean sure making it a phone would mean more mass market appeal and sales, but following down the path of Iphone, a phone that sells on brand instead of its tech, isn't exactly the way to go.
Sounds amazing. I applaud 2K for trying to take Bioshock in a whole new direction. While I enjoyed Bioshock 2 tremendously, its story did suffer from being a return visit to Rapture. Bioshock was a very story driven shooter and I'm hoping they can take it to new heights with the second sequel.
Ooh look I made a funny. :P
Comic-wise, Spiderman is probably the more popular super hero. However, Batman definitely has the upper hand in video games thanks to Arkham Asylum.
I think a 5 point scale is still the easiest and the best way to rate games. I say this because it's hard to differentiate what makes a game a 8.5 instead of 8, or 7.5 instead of 7, etc. It should just be something simple like: great, good, mediocre, bad, abysmal.
I was thinking about getting this a while back, but decided not to. I’ll be more than happy to pick it up though if they put it up on PSN, but in the meantime my P3P disk is making my PSP its permanent home.
It's been a really great year so far, the list is good but doesn't even begin to cover all the great games we've got in 2010.
There's Heavy Rain, Deathspank, SSFIV, SC2, MNR, Darksiders, Metro 2033, Alan Wake...PSP's having its strongest year in in game lineup also.
Split/second was a little bit too shallow for me, was bored with it after a couple hours in. The TV show feel to it really doesn't add to the gameplay, and while it was refreshing it was more of a novelty than anything. Alan Wake's episodic set up was something that I really enjoyed, it helped break up the game in little pieces so it doesn't feel too repetitive.
The graphics is a big thing for me. I know graphics aren't the most important thing in a game, but there's limit to how bad a game can look before it starts interfering with the gameplay. Da:O was one such title that crossed the threashold and I felt my eyes being violated as I'm playing it. The poor coding of the console ports certainly didn't help either.
Not very hyped about this game. Bioshock's old school look has made such a deep impression in my head that Mafia 2 just pales in comparison. Hopefully there will be a engaging story to go with the game, it'll be the one thing I'd be interested in.
Can't wait for Yakuza 4, I held off buying Yakuza 3 because when it was released 4th was already in Japan, and had a hunch that this one was coming overseas too. Because the releases were so close together I almost treat Yakuza 4 like a enhanced/GOTY edition of Yakuza 3.
Cosplay is a wonderful thing. It turns girls that are usually 5s or 6s into full blown 9s. As for guys...well they're all just freaks. :P

Definitely a shameless cash grab, it looks like they simply lifted Tekken characters and dropped them straight into Street Fighter. The clash of fighting systems alone is enough to drive at least one side of fans away from the game, depending on which one gets left out in favour of the other.
If you compare the games side by side Yakuza is better in almost every department, but probably not really a fair comparison since the first Mafia came out a long time ago and Yakuza 3 was just released last year.
No killer apps? Starcraft 2 JUST came out...
I would have guessed that piracy is the biggest issue when it comes to PC gaming, which goes hand in hand with DRM.
Fast and agile zombies works in both movies and video games, and that's what made 28 days/weeks later and L4D such great zombie titles. The mere sight of a zombie is no longer scary.
