No was one even expecting a mention let alone an announcement about the last guardian after Shu's comment during gamescom. It's not a shock that we didn't see it, and it sure as hell doesn't mean it's cancelled
How great did the last deep down gameplay trailer look? i am so excited for that game now, im just disappointed about the delay... they announced that game far too early i think. I hope they also put out a retail version with all the content included (but i doubt it.

Looks nothing like assassins creed at all, you probably saw the first gameplay trailer where talion first climbed up that structure and immediately thought it was a clone of AC. While that mechanic seems similar, the combat looks nothing like AC at all.
