Yup. I also think using the Sixaxis to steady your sniper rifle is very innovative. None of the games that I own do that. They all use the R3 (which after long periods of time, can wear out your controller).
Well, Killzone 2 is sci-fi, too.
Also, they did innovate; the first ever fully First Person cover system. Each game with cover system (Brothers in Arms: Halls Highway, Rainbow Six, ect...) automatically change to Third Person in cover.
