Try Vista x64 with all updates and you will change you opinion.
Ubuntu its a good distribution of linux but we can play recent games on it, why having a good pc to use only linux?
I have ubuntu 8.04, vistax64 and Xp on my machine, because i want to try them all and work with them.
If one day a distribution from linux will let play recent games that use directx i will delete windows from my system.
A console can not compete with a top spec pc on visuals, that is the true, i have some games on pc that i've on console like Crysis, assasins creed, gears of war, rainbow six, dirt, grid demo, call of duty 4; and all that games are better visuals than any other console.
But the price of a good pc, or a good graphic card isn´t the same of a console.
Consoles can run smooth without any break, and i prefer a console from a pc when talking about online service.
I hate EA, why they don't stop buying enterprise's that make cool games, and then, they ruin it.
All the games that Ea launches are so fck....g bad, they can concentrate on doing a few titles but do it good, because they are making money on that moment but in a future they will start losing, and all that enterprises they bought will disappear.
I'm start thinking that future of games is on the hands of EA....

I know people doesn't have to fix the consoles but i prefer to spent 0.50€ than sent it to M$, it's easy and cheap.
The diference is that M$ is doing everything to sell is product, it's even more cheaper than a wii, and they don't sell on japan because "japan" people doesn't know what games are. Sony is good at the marketing point this is where sony won so much people.
But people has to know all about the others consoles so choose the better for him.

Yes, it's easy to fix, the problem are on the x clamps of xbox360, when the console are hot the solders on gpu chip will deform, and will cause the rrod ligths.
The problem is that x clamp does much pression on the center of the chips and they lift with high temperature, all that you have to do is remove that clamps and put a good thermal paste, have 8 screws and 8 washers to fix the heat sinks to the board.

I have the 360 from the day it's released, I've already have one time the problem of rrod but it's so easy to fix it that it confuses me, i spent like 0.50€ cents and bought some washers and screws and thats it, never more, and all the consoles that I've done it doesn't had problem anymore.
