Longevity-wise?
MGS4 alone it's longer than Halo 3 and Gears of Wars combined! And it has multiplayer too so I think you need to look for a better excuse than "Longevity".

That's exactly why Metal Gear Solid 4 was rendered at the resolution it was, 1024x768. It wasn't that the PS3 couldn't handle the 720p resolution for MGS4 but because that resolution was beneficial for most LCD HDtv's that are 1366x768 to prevent the vertical lines to be up-scaled and cause the image to be even more aliased because the 16:9 aspect ratio was out of focus.

After seeing the 1 million pre-orders of MW2 for the X360 compared to a mere 65,000 for Uncharted 2 I almost crap my pants. Even though Uncharted 2 seems like the #1 contender for "Game of Year" most people just doesn't give a Sh1t about the game.
Now imagine a new IP like Heavy Rain releasing this fall... It would have been an instant flop(from a sales perspective). Everybody is so hyped for MW2 that any other games don't matter. =(
