RROD is due to overheating . This is a disk drive problem. I don't get the correlation.
The new firmware update means certain disc drives, coupled with certain motherboards, leaves the disc drive unable to read the new disc format.
This must have been what they were checking for when MS unbanned banned consoles a few weeks back.
