nah, the story is good
i can see why this game could be seen as tedious, but the story, the characters, the actual gameplay that's not only going from A to B, the "kojimanigans" and the soundtrack makes this game very good in my eyes.
but yes, i don't like hyper realistic mechanics in games either and the product placement is done very stupidly, also it can be boring sometimes actually.
