Um no! complacent was the xbox one console under Mattrick. Not being complacent is the xbox one S, backwards compatibility, xbox mobile app (game streaming, party chat across devices etc), Elite controller, Design lab controllers, etc...

Nah they just got tired of the competition dissing them, saying their hardware was weak sauce. So they decided to flip the script. Now we will see if the narrative reverses, because they will never ever release a so called underpowered console again.

Personally, my view on the announcement is that they're 100% confident in their product being the most powerful console ever built. To announce a new console a year in advance, with the slogan "MOST POWERFUL CONSOLE EVER" just shows you they believe in what they have created.

This will be huge in Japan. I remember visiting the Pokemon Center in Japan back in 2008. Even then, there were kids lined up to battle one another on game boy. I can only imagine the success this game will receive in Tokyo.
I believe this was my first platinum as well. I also managed to platinum Tearaway on my Vita :-). I absolutely enjoyed that game.

If I'm not mistaken, it's not a matter of it taking them 2 years. It's an order in which they decided to implement software features. There is a roadmap that they use when deciding on these updates.
