F***, I knew I shouldn't have bought Rogue's Legacy at $15. My purchase of Thief at $5 is much less painful. I was getting reckless with my buys, it's easy to predict what comes to Plus, which is why I never bought Transistor.

I was going to get it but my friend git it and I didn't like what I saw much. Probably still get it just because Vita has nothing.
There's no reason not to dabble. Just release the likes of Pokemon Trozei or Metroid Pinball, or just copy mobile genres like Endless Runners (after playing with my Mario Clock which is similar I think it can work).
I don't think it should be a main focus by any means. Just side projects, tests, and simple titles. Mobile can't be ignored by a gaming company if their goal is profit.

What new Nintendo IP? Just having an exclusive doesn't make it THEIR IP. I remember people citing Bayonetta during these arguments. Nintendo's new IP are few and mostly small or seem bad. Pushmo is good but small and Splatoon looks horrible, for example.
