Absolutely, YES.
I loved the Campaigns of the other titles, although II's was a little convoluted. I'd like to see a definitive SP campaign and story if possible.

Well considering I didn't' really like E.T. when I saw it at the age of 6, and never cared for it later in life... I guess we'll see how this plays out. I really enjoyed all their other games so I'm sure it will be good.

You know what? You don't have to be a total killjoy and downplay the game. There's plenty of different combos, evasive maneuvers and magic powers to use in the game, aside from the puzzles, sounds, graphics, bosses, story, and epic scale of it all.
GoW games don't get great reviews because of "spamming".
Funny. I cam late to GoW and ended playing the HD Collection like you and LOVED IT! How can that many amazing puzzles, action set pieces and epic boss battles ever be considered boring? Maybe you just weren't in the mood for playing that kind of title? At first play, I HATED Red Dead Redemption, HATED it. Didn't play it for like 6 months, came back to it and started a new game and Loved it!
Cod4 MW though was a hard pill to swallow, it just seemed a little to close to...
