Deus Ex is one of my favourite games of all time, but it wasnt that influential simply because there arent many games like Deus Ex around now, its probably influenced the RPG genre more than the shooter one,

so while it was stellar it wasnt that influential IMO

influenced the use of full orchestral scores in FPS's (I cant think of any FPS before halo that had this), grenades on the fly, melee on the fly, recharging health/shield (this tripod gameplay mechanic has changed the way shooters implement grenades, melee and health) Halo's use of vivid colours, (the amount of FPS's before Halo that were post-apocalyptic greys and browns was insane), actually limiting your arsenal to 2 weapons forcing you to think of weapon combinations (how man...

yeah it simply is one of the most influential on any system, people saying only on xbox or console are kidding themselves

look at shooter today on any system Halo influences can be seen in every FPS these days, console or PC, sorry but thats the way it is

Braid is the best Xbox live Arcade title, I say so and so does metacritic, a close 2nd would be Shadow Complex, Limbo or Rez HD,

really looking foward to Hydrophobia also

I completely agree big_silky, I will try it but its all about the campaign and coop campaign for me

this is the way im going lately though, I mean im looking forward to COD:BO SP and MOH SP but not the MP's, MP's are starting to bore me a bit

well I think bad positioned checkpoints are just as bad a 'save whenever you want'

it takes suspense away from a game knowing you saved 1 minutes earlier, also in a shooter you can just reload a previous save straight after an enemy encounter with the knowledge of enemies position
