I'm not sure how they do things in Canada, but at least at my Gamestop, the $5 dollar pre-order counts as a credit for the game. kind of like a down payment. you can pay the game full in price before hand, it doesn't cost you anything extra
even if you decide to preorder a title, then decide to not buy it, you can have that 5$ in store credit transferred to a different title.
has anyone realized that this might be for north america? where sony has declined to divulge pre-order information?

i guess they weren't CONFIRMED... then again they sure were thrown around when all the talk of "year of the ps3 2009" was going on.

many are already being pushed back to 2010...
MS and sony will end up having about the same number of high quality exclusives this year. I wish one of the companies would change their strategies... sony promises too much and many games get pushed back, MS doesn't announce anything and games just sort of materialize for them. someone should find the middle ground...
COD4 didn't do much new, if anything, but it was such a polished, accessible game (at least for multiplayer)
won't move hardware.
maybe it's more that they've been working on this game for a long time, based on the 360, so to move it to PS3 would delay it more etc. or they could have been paid.

I guess you can count Infamous, because it's currently listed as Spring 2009, but who knows.
god of war 3, uncharted 2, heavy rain, MAG, GT5 (if it's coming this year) are all coming by earliest end of 2009.
nothing's been announced yet. can't say i'm completely NOT worried, but I think there are at least a few games MS hasn't shown off yet.
Final Fantasy XIII on xbox 360 is the biggest surprise...

What's the need to upgrade? They're already making out like bandits...
they'll probably hit a million+ no problems. It's the first HUGE JRPG release on PS3 (aside from the strategy RPGS that have been released), and it looks pretty good.
If this is similar to their claims of "18 new games" at the Tokyo Game Show...
that's cool and all, but neither fable 2 NOR resistance 2 cleared 90 on metacritic. ps3 had 2 exclusives over 90 this year vs. one on xbox 360, LBP and MSG4. congrats. pretty safe to say it was a rather bad year for games overall.
im not too excited about 2009 either. to be honest... killzone 2 looks like a solid shooter with gorgeous graphics, but that's about it. just another solid shooter. god of war 3 and uncharted 2 are the only ps3 games im looking forward to. but yo...
