Do they mean a try before they buy? If they have already purchased it then it's not worth having the devs use their time for something you can simply do by dropping into a mission. I'd rather they continue to focus on improving the game and adding more content. If it were a case that someday they allow us to modify our weapons and add things on, then sure. Wow, because I can't for the life of me think of another recent PVE multiplayer game that became massively popular and has hundreds of thousands of regular players. No, you're right.
