Probably more of the latter, given that the only good video game movies are still the first Tomb Raider and Mortal Kombat 1, and even those aren't exactly agreed upon. It's possible that they're saving the pandas and whatever the heck else for probable sequels, or just not showing that in the marketing at all. Kinda hope it's more of the first one.
