your right, the one major difference is that sony didnt just threw money around the industry and buy developers or ips, it was infact first the cd on the ps1 and then the dvd on ps2 that made many devs switch the plattform because of the bigger possibilitys, sure there was some money involved and some studios where bought into the firstparty lineup but its nowhere how microsoft operates.

just because ms states that silverlight is the best for videostreams its a not what you think it is.
In fact its a cloone of flash with ms trying to take a sector wich is allready served by flash, with ms again pushing other (theyre own) formats then supporting the standard (flash) is how ms operates, and thats why i hate them.
sure they advertise it that way now but that doesnt change the fact that ms once again forces you to install a ms produc...
