easy guys

the dvd turns at 12x speed BUT that doesnt mean you get the 12x datarate tahts not true.

first of all the 360 uses 8x (12x is only used on single layer disks with you dont see taht often on nextgen) and secondly is bluray CLV while dvd is CAV

CAV: The drives transfer rate is
variable. Information on the inside tracks of the disc is read at
approximately half the speed as the information on the outside of the
disc.

Its rather simple to explain the installs.

since bluray reads only one part at a time it would take to long to move th elaser to the outer part of the disc (wich also turns at a slower speed then the inner parts) so as a dev you load some parts of the disc to the hdd to prevent those "long" laserhead movements on the disc.

it's more likely about asset management, texture/data streaming, it's not the ram's fault if you get popups, it's the engine that is stuffed with too much content that can't be handled by the system anymore, and it's a huge problem the 360 lacks a harddrive so 3verything really DOES have to be in the ram since you cant cache data to the harddrive.

+ before i haven't seen it myself i wouldnt dare to tell the cause of those problems only ign reported sofar

the delay was not because of the ps3 but the multiplayer component.
as stated by rockstar several times now.

when will this end ?

it's a techdemo not a video, so expect it to run in realtime and useable camera controlls.

@fender

like i said

produceing a demo costs MUCH money, and most games get sold no matter if there is a demo or not. So in the end a bad demo does more damage then a good demo will benefit in sales.

i love demos myself but financially they aren't very effective

You also have to spent alot of development time to make a demo. That manpower is better placed in the actual game then put into a demo. Trailers instead are mostly produced by outsourcers like blurstudios for example wich off course costs also alot of money but the team can continue on the game wich will save hellalot of money at the end.

And most demos Good/Bad dont really produce more hype then a good trailer.
