I'm sure it's entirely worth it to Nintendo considering that 3DS version is probably going to sell 2-3 times as much as the Wii U. More for less!
I'm with you. Given a choice between getting a portable Smash AND a Wii U Smash versus a single (even moderately improved upon) Wii U version, you gotta go with the variety.
I've been trying to force myself through it on the PS3 (going on 3 years now), if only because I heard the sequels addressed a lot of the issues.

Great comment, but I did want to point out that when I mentioned 'shared glory,' it was a bit tongue-in-cheek, emphasizing the role-playing aspect of the game is all.
I couldn't be bothered to put up with the companions in Skyrim (or most games where it's optional, for that matter), mules be damned. Besides, who wants to share the glory?
I don't know that they get much of a choice when it comes to some of these platforms. Something along the lines of:
"Oh, you'd like to develop on the Vita? Great, just make sure you include game mechanics that utilize every single asinine control method we've put on there, or nun4u."
All-too-plausible conjecture, in my opinion. I suspect many developers would forgo such lameness if they truly had the choice.

It's been a long time since the first GRID title was released, with little to nothing being shown or talked about relating to GRID 2 since. We'll take ANYTHING, such is our anticipation for the next game in this amazing series.
More importantly, perhaps, is that they updated their Profile Image 9 hours ago to show a date of 8.8.12. Tantalizing!
CoD4 by a mile based on the more limited impact of perks and killstreaks, but that control scheme at 60fps is ultimately what I think made it the best console FPS series for sure.
