Well, the way I look at it, whether your player supports the"extra" features or not, Your paying for parts of the disc you couldn't use if you wanted too. No bitterness, no sour grapes, thats the fact of it.
Hd dvd had it all in stone before player one shipped, that why new fetures and improvements cann be rolled out for them more reliably.
I don't want much. I know I'll never play part 3, and Part 4 is so far off, and as of this writying still exclusive to PS3. But for the love of all things!!!!! Where is Metal Gaer Solid 2??!?!?!? All I want to do is play as snake abourd that freaking tanker upconverted in 1080p. My Xbox crapped out on me, so BC is my only freaking hope.!!!! Sorry guys I needed to vent. Oh yeah Otogi would be sweet too.
You only watch with people you invite. you have to send them a message. and there is no need for further adverts, you bought the disc. th other adverts are in the ringtones and such thats already on the disc. job done. adverts go to your email.
I think your all very lucky to live so close to yourm family and frends. I howver live in Cali, and my parents in Louisiana, and my extended family in Baltimore, and my friends in Canada. So I think this feature is pretty cool. It's a heck of a lot easier than hoping on a plane every couple of days to sit and wathc a movie with my dad. And also some of us have desktops. A bit clunky to be moving it into the living room to IM during a movie. And further more, if you can meet up with peop...
Orignally you posted that you had 10 out of 25 that you enjoyed, now you enjoy 16 out of 25? And how does your 25 trump my 35? Are we going by golf rules were lower is a better score? And who brought games into it? Casue I didn't mention games at any point just movies.
I don't know if yoor up on the news, but the only player currently on the market that can get the profile 1.1 features, is the PS3. Why? Becuase profile 1.1 is a hardware issue not a software issue. Thats why I provided a source in my first post so you could get this info. As of this writing, the only player that supports this spec is the Panasonic DMP-BD30K. I'm sorry, but it's true.
And also to the bpeople saying I'm playing the "Batman" card. I'm not saying it's...

You make a very valid argument. But then again it's my day off, and I consider informing people worth my time, and not a waste of it. And if the Fat lady is singing for HD DVD, what's she doing for all the companies making blu ray players that won't sell worth a damn because the PS3 keeps undercutting them in price. And does she also sing for the early blu ray adopters who will need to repurchase there player of choice in order to enjoy the newer profile 1.1 fea...

"PIP is already offered via firmware update for all Blu-Ray stand alone players"
Not true- On November 1, 2007, the Grace Period Profile was superseded by "Bonus View" as the minimum profile for new players released to the market.[58] With the possible exception of the PS3, profile 1.0 players cannot be upgraded to be Bonus View compliant(profile 1.1) source=
Look, I nkow this will come of as fan boyish so feel free to flame me later. I sell these products (Blu & HD) everyday. And when I see people haggling, it's over the price of the TV, even after the TV has been reduced by $800. No offense, put popel are cheap Ba$tard$. So yeah, I see the price drop as freaking awesome for consumers, who go out looing to get everything they want for next to nothing. Heck I'm an HD supporter simply becuase it's cheaper with the same sound and picture qu...
As some one who works at a major retailer selling home theater equipment, I just want to point out that we don't (or at least I don't) tell consumers 1080p is the best for them all. Infact in a lot of cases, we (I) talk them down to a 720p, especially after they tell me it's for cable or satelite and they have no interest in gaming, or HD discs of any color, and especially don't intend to use ther cool new TV as a computer moniter. WE recomend products based on a customers needs. If we want...
First off, I am a huge fan of HD DVD (bring on the hate, whatever). That being said I was really looking forward to the release of Spiderman 3 on Blu-ray, to see if there camp was gonna put there money where there mouth is and deliver the end all be all Blu-ray disc. So I ask you all, where is the "exclusive" HD bonus content!?!? With a combined total of 75Gb at there disposal (50Gb for disc one & 25Gb for disc two) No online features. No PiP comentary. No interactive feature...
The promo should be running till June 16th. However, From the 10th to the 16th, the rebate should be available on all of there model (A2, A20, and XA2) bring the prices to $299, $399, and $699 respectivley. Coup-le this with Best Buys promo, where you save an extra off if you purchase one with a TV $1000 and up, and that turns into $199, $299, and $599. At that price, I'm hoping Fox and Disney take notice, cause they are miaing out on some consumer swho are gonne want.....NEED movies in ...
Just two years ago, a 45" LCD cost $10K. Today it costs $2,500. With the 65"'s costing $10K, and all you can do is look at it! From my point of view this tech is pretty cheap for what it aims to do. My only question is when this tech will converge with enough others to make it even sexier! Like the whole thing biend and OLED screen, just millimeters thick, with pc moniter resolutions, and a single connection to a tower with 2 tereabytes of storage. Last but not least, a wall mou...
I currently work and a big name retail store, and this past week saw Hd-DVD selling 2 to None versus Blu-ray. Personaly, I do support Hd-dvd. It's cheaper, and produces the same quality. What's not to like? When someone comes into buy however, my opion doesn't matter. I give the pros and cons of both formats. And what I've notcied this past week is that money talks. I personally do not own a 1080p television, but I do have a High Def TV. For customers who come in and tell me that they...
Well, all I know is my door stop is gonna be letting me Enjoy matrix in HD come next Tuesday. Oh and if you wondering Batman Returns also looks great in HD. Too bad niether has hit Blu-ray. Oh and Do tell me how it will feel for blu-ray owners to know that they will pay about the same amount for Blood Diamond as I will, but get not even a third of the HD interactive features, if any. Me and my doorstop got some life in us yet. Oh and look, I stil have both my arms and legs after purchas...
I like the thought behind it, but the design leaves something lacking. I'm all for the 360 controler, and sixaxis is a nice touch. The size of the Wii is just perfect for setting up or taking on the go. Miniturizing the PS3 hardware to fit in side? An egineers night are, not to mention the heat it would create. The Wi-Fi or LAN option sounds awesome, And the Xbox guide interface is still tops to me. The 1080p output is grand, but Why only Blu-ray? I'm sorry but if were going for a Jack...
In case anyone was wondering, the Animatrix disc will be included (at least with the ultimate set) Oh and for anyone interested price drops ahead for all Toshiba players(about a hundread apeace; 2 for the xa2). Anyone fortuneate enough to get an A20 though. $500 for 1080p. Nice.
Ok on what continent is this this biggest "Full HD" LCD? Check Samsung who have had a 57" 1080p LCD for the past 6 months. here is the model number LN-S5797D
no offense to the auther, but I am tired off Plasma getting the short end of the stick when it comes to gaming. Having been selling TV's for the past 4 years, I have never gotten a plasma brought back or returned due to burn in. Add to that that technologies have improved, you'd have to leave something sitting completely still and not moving for like a day and a half to have a case where it might be remotely permanant. Also, the last time I read a review, Toshiba got the best rating for de...
