I'd love to play Mario Galaxy on the switch with similar hi res textures as with Dolphin emulation. I missed out on the Wii but I'd buy that in a heartbeat.
I have zero nada experience with making video games all I have is a meaningless opinion and based on my personnal taste I preferred the look and color palette of the original trailer and it doesn't matter because I trust the professionnal artists behind this and I can't wait to see the finished product.
Looks good but I'll have to pass seems just as hard as it's predecessors which were too complex for me... I'm glad the fans will have a great game though. I love gaming but I am I guess too casual a gamer :(
I would have agreed with you about spending money more wisely elsewhere but then look at how much Minecraft cost Microsoft!!! Meanwhile Microsoft keep investing almost exclusively in multiplayer games (as far as first party games go) whereas Sony spend much more on single player masterpieces. To each their own :D.
Silly thought; did you know disney only broke even on many of it's early films after multiple theater re-releases many years appart? I wonder if Nintendo broke even on all it's Wii U games but I'm sure.they can make more coins putting on the Switch. :)
Although I'll own a pc ps4 and switch before I consider buying an xbox I gotta say backwards compatibility on xbox is waayyyyyyy cooler than any number of re-masters
I'll buy a switch when I can play Mario 3D World on it. In the meantime I'd rather emulate it on PC than buy a Wii U.
I'm one of those that missed out on the Wii U but seriously a lot of games were built around the gamepad if anything the switch ports might be inferior gameplay wise if only minimally better visually... Let us have a taste of those great Wii U exclusives :).
I want more ports!! Give us Mario 3D World, Yoshi Whooly World, Captain Toad, Kirby and all those other great Wii U games that will otherwise die with the console!!!
I'd argue LawBreakers was a better game in the 'polished' sense yet PUBG is much more innovative and original ... and that makes it a more successful game.

I understand the die hard fans love of Zelda but personally as someone that did not grow up with it ... I thought it looked pretty but I got bored so fast... it's still so empty and slow... like every other Zelda game I have tried before it and ended up putting down after 3-4 hours... same as every other Zelda games. Meanwhile I loooove Mario 3D World and I still hope Nintendo brings it to switch!
As far as party games go this game deserves a 5/5.
I buy 99 % of my games physical copies for the 'investment' it represents as I can mainly 1. resell or 2. lend to my friends. If I had the same option to resell or lend my digital games, I'd be all over digital.
I disagree with the 'half-hearted attempts at 4K. I think if you have a 4K, HDR TV you will benefit greatly from a PS4 Pro. I myself have a perfectly fine 1080p TV and I don't feel like upgrading it to 4K before another couple years... if the PS4 Pro allowed better effects like ambient occlusion, anti-aliasing, textures, fps, etc I would have purchased one... right now as it is I really can't justify upgrading my original PS4 until I seriously consider upgrading my TV as well. I don't know how many or how few people will own both consoles but I can imagine for that group of customers (those who plan to own both a PS4 pro and Xbox One X) it will make more sense to buy all third party games on the most powerful hardware thus generating more profits for Microsoft...

I hope third party support is here to stay! I hate to be that guy but... the Wii U had a couple of great third party games just after it came out (Batman, Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed, etc). I'm more excited with brand new vs re-releases though. Let's hope this is a sign of the times! :D
