Awesome! Consoles are gonna support 32xAA and 16xAF? Sweet.
Instead you want to touch a watered down PC?
I really don't see your point. Just plug a gamepad into PC. ;)
But AT A REASONABLE FRAMERATE?
Yes, both consoles could get FAR better graphics. But would it be playable, and would it be at a decent framerate? The simple answer - no.
Love all the fanboys "disagreeing" with me. ;) You know it's true guys - unless they drop the resolutions so low that they're not HD, and they drop the "reasonable framerates" down a bit it's going to be extremely hard, if not impossible, to get better graphics on current gen systems.
Both current gen consoles are pretty much maxed out as far as graphics can go now - it will be hard to get any better with decent framerates.
Nothing like Heavy Rain? You never played Indigo Prophecy/Fahrenheit, did you?
It's no threat to PC gaming. At all.
This "article" is just embarrassing.
Oh wait, it's from HHG? Makes sense now.
Great thing about Blu Ray is that they don't have to compress the files at all/as much, makes for quicker reading too.
Gabe Newell is the only guy I'd turn gay for.
<.<
I really do not see why they don't, they could gain a potentially large customer base.
Still, good to see someone sticking by PC.
The graphics isn't perfect. Yes, it looks damn great, but there is still room for improvements. Especially in the environment textures - the only thing that really stands out is the outstanding characters.
MurderMyDoll... It should be the complete opposite of what you want. Developers should always take full advantage of what's available to them for each console - if that means adding higher resolution models, higher resolution textures for PC, and such, then so be it.
Has never been dead, to be honest. Yes, console releases generally sell more than PC games, but that doesn't mean that PC games don't sell. :) Borderlands sold over 1 million on PC, iirc. Same with Dragon Age. Sims 3 sold something like 4 million, too.
MW2 on PC still has ~100,000 people playing at one peak time during each day, so it's still going strong. Hopefully some of those people will start playing BC2 instead, I know I am. :)
"7. Obviously to combat piracy, why would someone buy a game for $60/£40 when they can torrent it? A classic example is the psp (one of the most pirated platforms), a new psp game can cost upto £20 or even lower, but that doesn't stop it hitting the torrents sites does it? "
Obviously, huh? Well that's wrong. ;) It's because Microsoft and Sony take a chunk out of the games profits.
I've had my $700 PC for the past 3 years and it's still running the latest games on high graphics, mate. If you choose the right pieces, it will be cheap and powerful -- you do not need to "spend 1000 a year".
Yep. I for one don't buy retail anymore, at all. All of my purchases now are made on Steam.
I think I'd prefer to run it with 16xAA, 1080P at 60FPS. :(
