I'm pleased and impressed with the intelligent discussion going on. I think MGS is an important franchise in gaming and for the vast majority of comments here being insightful it just shows that the game's fans are passionate ones.

The Metal Gear Solid series is one that really requires an intelligent team behind it and only the very best direction. Kojima-san has been around the industry for years for a reason so his involvement being in MGS' 5th main entry is a blessing. Until then!

To be successful you have to take risks. Sony was #1 like Nintendo was #1 (for two generations in a row) but they became to confident and that's why they dropped to #3. The real question will be now that Nintendo is #1 again will they stay there again or drop like they did a decade ago?
The biggest risktakers are oftentimes the biggest success stories except for when they fail misserably like you said.

Specs can be misleading just look at GameCube's. It was a lot more capable than it looked on paper. This article does have some insight on the 3D camera from a hands on stanpoint however and that is some brilliant tech right there.
