Problem with your thought Nintendo was the biggest publisher in 2018 and it did not have a stellar year, only in Europe Nintendo did not place 1st I think they were 3rd with Sony around 6th so for first party they number 1 in every region

Sony games are frontloaded it do not matter how well received the games are, look at horizon in 4 weeks it drop to 40, it’s not because the game bad because most of its sales came from the first two weeks and then Sony sales for first party sales drop off........:they have no legs so Sony end up adding it to a bundle look at the last of us that was bundle with the ps4 in the beginning you really think half of those sales came from people picking it up??? Not really because this game is coming west same day as Japan I think and it’s fully featured so every region gets the definitive edition people are just upset it’s the switch that get everything
Not really, think about what they did to Japan release, it did not get any of the quality improvement that the American and European users got on ps4 and pc, so it only make sense they do it again or it will be shitty that they only treated japan wrong

Nintendo report was up to December 31 it sold 12 million from December 7 to December 31 and switch sold 30 million consoles up to December 31

This was end of December when ps4 had a 700k lead, as of this week mediacreate the lead Sony have is at 500k it will definitely not take a whole year if more games came out it happen sooner the next new game is around April I think so I’m guessing July the latest with April the earliest
